Once again, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Ruskin, FL has issued a Freeze Watch for West Central Florida that includes the Nature Coast area. This freeze watch will last from late tonight (Saturday) to early tomorrow morning (Sunday). The predicted temperature at this time has been forecasted to be between 28 an 30 degrees F for more than 2 hours. I have included the NWS alert from this morning below for your convenience. In addition, you can always monitor real time weather using the Florida Automated Weather Network (FAWN) at http://fawn.ifas.ufl.edu/. FAWN has a cold protection tab which in includes the following items: cold protection tool kit (minimum overnight temperature - calculated), Evaporative Cooling Potential, Wet Bulb Based Irrigation Cut off, and Citrus Leaf Freezing Temperature.
